ABOUT
Middle School Sports
Athletics at the middle school level are combination of participation and competition based, and are a great opportunity for your child to gain added experience to a sport that they already enjoy or added exposure to a sport they are still learning. Students will have the opportunity to try-out for any sport in which they would like to participate. Students that are selected to each team will have communicated practices once or twice a week to prepare for Jamborees that are held on Saturdays at various international schools located around the country. At the beginning of each season, YISS coaches will separate the students into mini-teams to allow for more playing time and experience. Jamborees are inter-school games played to modified rules and a shortened clock. Teams will play anywhere from 3-4 games per jamboree. This is an opportunity for students and teams from YISS to play multiple games against multiple schools, build teamwork, relationships, and to apply the basics of game play and healthy competition.
